Laugh a minute at the Melbourne Comedy Festival

The Melbourne Comedy Festival is on at the moment and thanks to Jameson PR we're lucky enough to have a 10 x double passes for each of the shows below to give away to you!  Just purchase anything in store or online and a pass is yours. First in first served!

Get out your teasing comb and leopard print leggings for the return of Ireland’s favourite comedy rock super-group in their brand new show, Dead Cat Bounce … Howl of the She Leopard.

Described by critics as “brilliant” (The Age), “stupendous” (Adelaide Advertiser) and “one of the funniest damn acts on the planet” (Time Out Sydney), and often compared favourably with the inimitable Spinal Tap, the exuberant, award-winning trio are set to rock Australia’s knickers off with their precision character comedy combined with cleverly crafted lyrics, stadium-worthy riffs and magnificent rock posturing.

Over the past three years, Dead Cat Bounce have performed their rocking stage show to packed houses and critical acclaim at all the major international comedy festivals, including: the Montreal Just for Laughs Festival, Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Kilkenny Cat Laughs, Bulmers International Comedy Festival, London’s Big Joke Festival, Melbourne International Comedy Festival and the Sydney Comedy Festival, where they were winners of the People’s Choice Award in 2011 and were awarded the Time Out Jury Prize in 2010.

These brilliant boys redefine rock ‘n’ roll comedy”  (The Age)

The silliest, most stupendous rock band since Spinal Tap.”  (The Advertiser)

Tickets are for the Tuesday 10th April and Wednesday 11th April
9.45 PM at Trades Hall New Ballroom.

Character comic Tom Binns, the man behind everyone’s favourite hospital radio DJ Ivan Brackenbury, makes a triumphant return to the Melbourne International Comedy Festival with his spirit medium, Ian D Montford - a total sell-out in Edinburgh, with critical success and one of the most talked-about cult hits of the festival.

Tom showcased Ian at last year’s festivals in Melbourne & Adelaide, where he was twice nominated for the Best Established Comedian Award.  Having got the hand of contacting the dead, Tom is back, doing what he does best – creating masterful character comedy as a complement to his new-found gift as a medium.

Says Tom, “The ability to contact the dead has now become second nature to me.

“Now I can focus on using the dead in my comedy show. Last year was about learning how to drive my new comedy vehicle; this year is about finding places to go in it.”

Spirit Comedium mixes wonderfully observed comedy with spookily skillful audience interaction and faintly inexplicable clairvoyant revelations. Celebrated by sceptics, believers, audiences and critics alike, Ian D. Montford will baffle you with his jaw-dropping talents.

Tickets are for the Tuesday 10th and Wednesday 11th April
7PM at Trades Hall Meeting Room.

Get in quickly before they get snapped up!
